The award categories are:

Training Excellence - Schools Program

  • Hutchinson Builders Construction School of the Year

    To nominate, the school must be involved in one of Construction Skills Queensland’s school-based programs including Doorways 2 Construction or Doorways 2 Civil Construction.

  • Sarina Russo Construction School Student Of The Year

    To nominate, students must be:

    • A school-based apprentice or trainee in the construction industry currently completing year 12
      • OR
    • A current school student who has completed or is currently enrolled in a CSQ school-based construction course such as Doorways 2 Construction or Doorways 2 Civil Construction.

Learning Organisation Excellence Awards

  • Australian Council For Private Education and Training Private Registered Training Organisation Of The Year

    To nominate, your organisation must:

    • Be a current registered training organisation; and
    • Deliver vocational education and training to the construction and building industry.

  • Australian Brick & Blocklaying Training Foundation Public Registered Training Organisation of the Year

    To nominate your organisation must:

    • Be a current registered training organisation; and
    • Deliver vocational education and training to the construction and building industry.
    • Be a government-owned organisation

  • QLeave Individual Trainer of the Year

    To nominate you must:

    • Be a current trainer/teacher within the construction industry; and
    • Train  either with a private or public Registered Training Organisation or
    • Are directly employed in a trades or technical training role within a construction organisation

Employer Commitment to Training Awards

  • John Holland Employer Commitment To Training – Queensland Up To $5Million Turnover

    For a construction business or a construction project up to $5M in turnover or value.

    Government owned organisations or Registered Training Organisations are not eligible to nominate for employer categories.

  • Boral Asphalt Employer Commitment To Training – Qld over $5M Turnover

    For a construction business or a construction project over $5M in turnover or value.

    Government owned organisations or Registered Training Organisations are not eligible to nominate for employer categories.

Stars Of 2010

  • QBuild Construction Indigenous Person of the Year

    You identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander currently employed in the construction industry.

  • National Association of Women In Construction Award for Construction Female of the Year

    This category is open to all tradeswomen, apprentices, trainees and para-professionals currently employed in the construction industry.

  • Civil Contractors Federation Construction Professional of the Year

    You have completed or are due to complete your Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in 2010.

  • Laing O’Rourke Construction Trainee of the Year

    You have completed or are due to complete your traineeship in 2010.

  • Construction Training Centre Construction Apprentice of the Year

    You are a third or fourth Year Apprentice, or have completed your Apprenticeship in 2010.

Judge's Award for Outstanding Achievement

  • The Judges for the 2010 Excellence Awards will present the Outstanding Achievement Award to an award nominees deserving of special industry recognition.

    You do not need to nominate for this category; all shortlisted nominees are automatically entered into this award category.
